A grease recovery device goslyn separates the fog from the wastewater as it enters the device.
3 compartment sink grease trap.
A grease interceptor intended to serve as a fixture trap in accordance with the manufacturer s installation instructions shall be permitted to serve as the trap for a single fixture or a combination sink of not more than three compartments where the vertical distance from the fixture outlet to the inlet of the interceptor does not exceed 30.
Each compartment is 3 dfus.
Determine the flow rate for each sink to be serviced by the grease trap using the same calculations as a single sink.
Use floor sink criteria based upon drain size or number of sinks whichever is larger.
A 3 compartment sink will only have a longer drainage time period if the grease recovery device is undersized.
Goslyn controls the inflow of effluent or wastewater.
If draining multiple fixtures into one grease trap.
Dfus based upon sink drain size see table 2 below or section 702 1 in the upc.
Add together 100 of the largest flow rate 50 of the second largest and 25 of all others.
The result is the recommended flow rate in gpm of the grease trap.
Floor sinks that receive only ice machine and cooler condensate are not counted.
Add together 100 of the largest flow rate 50 of the second largest and 25 of all others.
If draining multiple sinks into one grease trap determine the flow rate for each sink to be serviced by the grease trap using the same calculations as a single sink.
Grease ducts shall be sized between 500 2500 fpm.
One trap shall be permitted to serve a set of not more than three single compartment sinks or laundry tubs of the same depth or three lavatories immediately adjacent to each other and in the same room where the waste outlets are not more than 30 inches 762 mm apart and the trap is centrally located where three compartments are installed.
I was wondering on installing a grease interceptor for a 3 compartment sink would it be ok to have the 3 drains tied together draining with an air gap into a 3 x 2 reducer with a 2 p trap going a short distance to a flow control tee and use the vent on the flow control as the one venting that line and from there go to the grease.
Use a separate trap.
Your sinks you may have more than you think you of course have your standard three compartment sinks that produce a lot of your kitchen s wastewater but there are some others to think about.
Mop and floor sinks can also account for a significant amount of wastewater especially in a heavy use kitchen with regular cleaning.
